Frances Griffiths and Elsie Wright
View Debbie Rothstein's Bio
Frances Griffin and Elsie White (Debbie Rothstein and Ann E. Chatterton): The story about Frances Griffith and Elsie Wright –– the girls who took the pictures of the Beck Faeries –– inspired my cousin and I so much, that we, too, have devoted our lives to the study and research of faeries and other elementals. Not to mention also that our names were strangely similar! When Frances Griffith was visiting her older cousin Elsie Wright in the summer of 1917, in Cottingley, England, they photographed actual fairies in woods behind the Wright’s home. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle later proved the photos to be genuine by getting them authenticated by the Kodak Company. He later wrote an article in “The Strand” based on Frances and Elsie’s stories. These discoveries brought hope of the magical to a disheartened World War I England. (For more information go to Cottingley Fairies and Frances and Elsie.

There was healing in the Waters for all who were weary and battle–wounded, and the Waters gave back life to the dead. When the battle was won and the People of the Fomor defeated, Brigit cried out to the hills, lakes, rivers, woods, valleys, and plains of Ireland the great news of victory: “Peace up to Heaven, Heaven down to Earth; The Earth under Heaven; Strength to everyone.” She is the same Saint Brigit in Catholicism.
